Peach County High Band Student Recognized as One of the Best in State

J. Bryant

Jakalin Bryant, a junior percussionist in the Peach County High School Band auditioned and earned membership in the prestigious Georgia Music Educators Association 2021 All-State Honor Band. Students in this ensemble are recognized as the "Best" in the state. To be a member of this all-star honor ensemble, students must pass a district level audition and an extremely rigorous state level audition. Jakalin’s high audition score earned him the ranking of #1 Principal Percussionist in his assigned All-State Band. Last year, Jakalin made the 2020 All-State Band and was ranked number one as well.

The 2021 Georgia All-State Band was scheduled to meet in April in person at the Classic Center in Athens, GA to practice and perform for the public. However due to Covid 19, the event has been cancelled. Students who made the ensemble will receive all accolades and recognitions associated with making the 2021 Georgia All-State Band.

The scheduled guest conductor for the ensemble was Colonel Don Schofield, commander and conductor of the United States Air Force Band. Jakalin is the son of Craig & Amy Bryant. The PCHS Band is under the direction of Mr. Darren Johnson.
